Up next on our meet and great at the vineyard is our vineyard assistant, Sacha. Sacha is an integral part of the progress we’ve made so far at the vineyard and the exciting plans we have over the next few years.
If you visit us, you’ll find Sacha in and around the vines making sure their every need is tended to. Be sure to say Hi if you see him!
We found out a little more about his favourite part of his job and what he’s excited about in the future!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY?
I have to say my favourite part of working in the industry is getting to be a part of new and exciting projects. When I was asked to help get the vineyard up and running I jumped at the chance. Seeing all our hard work turn into amazing wines and tours really makes it all worth it.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU WITHIN YOUR ROLE?
The team I work with is one of the most inspiring parts of my work. Having a close knit team makes every day exciting and fun. We learn new skills from each other which in turn makes us all more competent at what we’re doing. On top of this, being a part of building something from the ground up (literally) and seeing the results of the hard work is really inspiring to working even harder next year.
EVERY MONTH IS BUSY FOR THE TEAM BUT WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE TIME OF THE YEAR?
I would say October time is my favourite time, harvest has happened and we’ve celebrated an amazing crop and we’re ready to start fresh for the next year to come. At this point, the weather isn’t too bad and we get a lot of work done. Harvest is great though, it has an almost ceremonial feel for everyone involved.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE WINE?
It has to Meursault! The new Wildshark wines are absolutely delicious though.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2025?
I’m really excited to be planting more vines and also seeing the development of the site we have lots of exciting things on the horizon and it’ll be great to see those fall into place!
