Growing, learning and trying new experiences is at the forefront of our ethos. Especially in our new journey at Wildshark Vineyard.
The Australian wine industry is one of the worlds largest exports of wine with over 800 millions litres produced every year! That’s a lot of wine… One of the main differences from English viticulture and winemaking and Australian is the climate. Similarly to the UK, different types of grape thrive in different parts of the country. In South Australia particularly, the dry, hot climate ripens grapes fully, making bold, dense and concentrated wines. The slightly cooler (by Australian terms) areas tend to produce stunning sparkling wines.
Our team made their way out to Australia and New Zealand to experience winemaking down under and to expand their knowledge on viticulture and winemaking.
We’ve been delighted to be hosted by lots of different vineyards such as Willow Bridge Estate, Lenton Brae Wine and more! This trip wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of Ellis Wines. We’ve worked closely with Ellis Wines for a number of years and what amazing experiences we’ve had so far!
