Welcome To
The Dirty Habit
A short walk from Leeds Castle, on the Pilgrims Way in Hollingbourne; The Dirty Habit was a monk’s ale and cider house in the eleventh century. The pilgrims who passed on their way to Canterbury would refresh themselves and perhaps stay the night. It is said that James II stayed here whilst escaping the country to France.
