We Are Eco Aware

Posted by the Elite team. 10th January 2020

We’re proud of our Kentish provenance and as so much of our produce comes from the earth, it’s only right that we give back what we can. Here are just a few of the ways that your local Elite Pub is eco-aware.

1.

We are a proud member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, this means that we believe it matters how our food is sourced and served and that we have a responsibility to operate sustainably in order to protect the world in which we live.

As members, the sustainable ways in which we operate has been acknowledged and accredited by the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

2.

We’re also a proud member of Produced In Kent, a celebratory network of all things Kent. The relationships we have with our suppliers is at the heart of what we do which is why we choose to work with local suppliers. Find out more about our Kent-based suppliers here.

3.

Almost all of our pubs have electric charging points for electric powered cars. So if you’re doing your bit for the environment, the least we can do is help you out.

4.

Our bottled water supplier Belu provide all of our pubs and cocktail bars with ethically-produced water.

100% of their profits go directly to WaterAid which means when you buy bottled water in our pubs, you’re helping to bring clean drinking water to developing countries. Belu also manage to do all of this whilst keeping their carbon footprint to a minimum.

5.

All of our menus and printed materials that you see, including sign up cards, posters and business cards are printed on 100% recycled paper.

Even our napkins are made from 100% recycled materials.

6.

Take a more eco-friendly approach to exploring Kent with bike hire available at a selection of our pubs.

7.

Our bedrooms at The Potting Shed are fully powered by solar panels. Using a clean, green, renewable source of energy contributes towards making our bedrooms more eco-friendly and sustainable.
