Celebrating International Day of Happiness

Posted by the Elite team. 17th March 2021

On 20th March we’ll be celebrating the International Day of Happiness – a day that aims to celebrate happiness over the world. To help spread some joy and inspiration, we caught up with our team to see how they have been keeping their spirits high during these times.

“As well as taking a walk on the North Downs, the family and I took it in turns to cook everyday, trying to outdo the previous day’s chef! By the second week my son was learning recipes from Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin Star restaurant in Chelsea.. say no more! By that point my wife’s spag bol seemed a little bland.. My daughter won the themed dinners by virtually taking us to Naples for a pizza making evening!”

– Martial, Food and Drink Sampler

“I’ve been learning to appreciate and enjoy the simpler things in life again, things that we tend to forget about in our usual hectic and busy lives.”

– Tracy, HR Manager

“Early lockdown 2020 I kept myself busy taking part in Courtney Black monthly workout challenges. Being such a routine girl I also ended everyday with a 5.30pm evening walk with my family. This was a great way to finish my day and always gave me something to look forward to. Early lockdown 2021 my hobby turned into a business and The Bakery Den was born. This was an unexpected dream of mine to run my own business and I’ve had the best fun filling everyone’s bellies over the last few months!”

– Emily, Sales and Events Coordinator

“During lockdown, my partner and I welcomed our beautiful baby girl to the world and we could not be happier. So much so, I don’t really want lockdown to end!”

– James, Assistant Executive Chef

“I spent my lockdown moving house, so I’ve enjoyed settling in and tackling some home renovations and DIY! I’ve even built my own garden bar, which will be having it’s debut on 12th April.”

– Sam, Internal Recruiter

“To keep my spirits up throughout the multiple lockdowns I have been reading a lot! During lockdown 2.0 we created a book club with a few of the girls from the office. This has really helped motivate me to get up early to finish the book for the weekly Sunday Facetime to discuss it. It has been lovely to see everyone weekly and have something interesting to discuss, despite not having left the house!”

– Jessica, Sales & Events Coordinator
