    Activities To Do At Easter In Kent And Sussex

Easter half term is nearly here and over the two-week break, there can be times when you’re not sure how to fill the time – especially with kids. Have no fear – we’ve put together some fun activities to participate in over the Easter break. From shows to farms to Easter egg hunts, there’s something for all the family across Kent and Sussex!

Scotney Castle's Easter Egg-stravaganza

Head to Scotney Castle from 1st-16th April and join in the Easter Egg-stravaganza where you can make your way around the gardens and discover all the weird and wonderful egg-laying creatures and take selfies in the family-sized nest plus you’ll get a free chocolate egg at the end! Just £3 per trail, it’s a super cheap and fun-filled day out for all ages.

All that egg-hunting will give you an appetite – why not head over to The Vineyard, Lamberhurst for a delicious pub meal with a large play area for the kids outside and a dog-friendly bar area?

EM Forster Theatre, Tonbridge

The EM Forster Theatre in Tonbridge will be performing a musical adaption of  The Little Mermaid on Friday 24th March – Sunday 26th March. A great one for all ages and inspiring for any theatre buffs or aspiring actors! As well as this, the theatre will be showing the National Theatre live screening of Life of PI on Thursday 30th March filmed live from London’s West End.

 

Just around the corner for a bite to eat before is The Poacher and Partridge, Tudeley. A varied menu with kids menu and even a doggy deli for our furry friends!

The Kent Life Heritage Farm, Maidstone

One for the animal lovers. The Kent Life Heritage Farm is open from Saturday 1st April to Sunday 16th April every day and there’ll be lambs, goats and lots of other farm animals to look at. On top of this, there are arts and crafts for the kids, shows and more. Family ticket packages are offered for a discount. Definitely worth spending the day here and tire out the kids!

Hungry after all of that excitement? The Herbalist in Maidstone would love to host you for lunch or dinner with lots of yummy dishes including our signature wood-fired sourdough pizzas! Vegan and gluten-free options available.

We included Riverhill Himalayan Gardens in our ‘best things to do in Sevenoaks’ blog because of their beauty! The annual ‘Bunny Hunt’ is back from 1st-10th April. Find the bunnies hiding amongst the Rhododendrons, and claim your sweet treat.

We hope you won’t fill up on sweet treats and join us at The Pheasant Plucker, Ide Hill for seasonal dishes from our new spring menu. (The puds are delicious too if you can fit them in!)

Leeds Castle is always a sure bet for a day of fun and Easter is no different! From Saturday 1st April – Sunday 16th April, participate in an Easter Quest where you’ll need to crack clues and collect hidden golden eggs to be rewarded with an edible prize at the end.

You can meander through the beautiful spring gardens before collapsing into The Potting Shed, Langley where we’ll feed and water you before you continue your activities.

Another for theatre lovers. Trinity Theatre Tunbridge Wells is hosting a Story Time from Friday 17th March to Friday 31st March with interactive songs in the morning. A great experience for younger kids and sets them up for the day in a creative and interactive way. Tickets are just £5 and children under 5 go free.

You’ll be hungry after all of that, so why not take the short drive to The Lazy Fox, Mark Cross? With breathtaking views, a dog-friendly garden and bar and a large playing area for the little ones, you’ll not want to leave!
